Restoration, and not rebuilding, is the outcome of a welcome cultural phenomenon: growing respect for all styles of organbuilding, rather than a desire to transform an instrument into something it was never meant to be. After years of neglect, destruction, disfigurement and ridicule, instruments in this aesthetic have come back into fashion again.
